For the second time in three years, Beeston resident, Charlotte Kemp (pictured) is donating her long and lustrous locks to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes wigs for children living with cancer. She is also raising sponsorship for Shine - the charity which works with people living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
Charlotte, an Assistant Scout Leader and former NCN student, saw a poster at her Scout Headquarters advertising that Lee Stafford, celebrity hairstylist would be in town to promote the September 2013 opening of the Stephenson College Lee Stafford Hair Academy, on Maid Marian Way. Charlotte made contact with Georgina Hunter at Stephenson College to enquire whether Lee might help her.
Lee was happy to oblige, and on Saturday 13 July, Charlotte took centre stage for Lee’s final styling of the day. Lee cut off her long tresses and held them aloft like a warrior displaying a battle trophy before handing them over for careful wrapping and mailing. He then quietly restyled the remainder of Charlotte’s hair into a very sassy inverted bob.
Charlotte is looking forward to beginning her Costume Design degree studies at Nottingham Trent University in September with her brand new look.
This event formed into part of the BroadMarsh “Everyone’s invited” summer extravaganza, and earlier in the day Charlotte found herself on stage with TV’s Rylan Clark and Capital FM’s Dino and Pete explaining what she was about to undertake!
At the time of writing, Charlotte has raised just over £270 for Shine, she would really like to make it £500, would your readers like to help her?
